Workshop One: Key Factors in Written Communication at Work
What are the key problems in written communication in the workplace, and what are some of the ingredients of effective writing?
Workshop Two: Take a Memo….
What is a good memo, and how do we write one?
Workshop Three: Getting the Message AcrossHow can we plan and organise writing for maximum effect?
Workshop Four: ‘I’ll Say that Again…’
What should we look for when editing and revising?
Workshop Five: Making ProposalsHow can we present information and ideas to both inform and motivate readers?
Workshop Six: On Tone and TactHow can we manage our writing to make the right impression?
Each workshop focuses on a particular aspect of written communication and includes a practical task which encourages participants to use the skills in focus. Homework assignments are set after each session, including written assignments. There are also handouts with tips on improving writing at the level of words, sentences and paragraphs.
